Citywire has revealed the first 25 top fund selectors in the UK for 2025, and we’re proud to share that Laurence has once again been recognised — having also earned a place in last year’s top 25.
Laurence’s profile from the press release is below:
Chief investment officer, Maia Asset Management
Personal AUM: £800m
Firm AUM: £800m
Laurence Boyle has spent more than 35 years in the industry, having held roles at Williams de Broe and Investec Wealth and Investment.
In 2016, he co-founded Maia Asset Management, where, as CIO, he leads and co-ordinates the overall investment strategy across the firm’s MPS range.
Boyle said one of the biggest challenges facing the industry today is the relentless focus on price over value, particularly in the MPS space. ‘There’s a risk that this commoditisation of investment services could ultimately lead to poorer outcomes for clients if cost becomes the only differentiator,’ he said.
If he could master one skill outside of the finance world, it would be gardening, which he says requires patience, planning and a respect for the seasons – much like investing.
