We are thrilled to announce that Beccie has been included in the Citywire Wealth Manager’s Top 100 2023, the annual showcase of the UK’s most influential fund selectors.
This recognition is not just a testament to Beccie’s individual expertise but also a reflection of the outstanding teamwork that defines our small, close-knit team. At MAIA Asset Management, collaboration is at the heart of our approach, and this award underscores the collective effort that goes into managing our model portfolios.
Beccie states ‘I am delighted to be shortlisted as my colleague, Laurance, was last year. I think we will both acknowledge that this is a MAIA team approach.’
In 2016, Beccie, along with like-minded colleagues Laurence Boyle and Sophie Taylor, embarked on a new chapter by founding our boutique investment management firm MAIA, in the heart of Warwickshire. This achievement is a testament to their shared vision and the collaborative spirit of everyone at MAIA that continues to drive our success as a team.
The Citywire profile on Beccie:
Head of research and founding director, MAIA Asset Management
Group AUM: £640m
West Midlands-based Beccie Williams has more than 30 years of experience in investment management.
She cut her teeth at Albert E Sharp, working there for a decade and becoming an associate director by the time she left in 1999. From there she joined Williams de Broe, which was later bought by Investec.
Working there for more than 16 years, she was a senior investment director and deputy fund manager for the WDB Assetmaster fund range. In that role, Williams specialised in the quantitative aspects of investing and risk analysis, and was central to the production of analysis for the investment strategy unit that was then distributed across the firm.
Following that Williams branched out on her own with like-minded colleague Laurence Boyle (who featured in our Top 100 last year). Together in 2016 they launched boutique investment management firm MAIA in the heart of Warwickshire.
